I'm asking this because i want to watch movies in a bigger screen bigger than my pc. I've seen my school do this but i just want to know what chord or cable to buy.

If your TV has a VGA connector (my new 32" LCD panel does) you can cable the TV to the VGA output connector on your system. Some newer systems have S-Video connectors which can output video as well--as long as the TV has an S-Video connector.
